Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Santiago Gaitan, made in the 11th minute of the game. In the 16th play minute Desiderio Intxixu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lautaro Navarro. 1-0. Norbert Szigligeti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 21st minute of the match. If Christian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of Norbert Szigligeti. C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Esteban Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. German Lorien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 37 played minutes, Honduras's Milagros Cabal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norbert Szigligeti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Honduras reached it. Enrique Sustrai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Segundo Anaya to make the kick off. The supporters of Honduras booed when C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Blasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ivan Navarro hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Santiago Gaitan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Sustrai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza. German Lorien stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lautaro Navarro. 2-1. Norbert Szigligeti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The supporters of Honduras booed when C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Sustrai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza got a freekick which was hit by Rosendo Caradaro. Norbert Szigligeti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Norbert Szigligeti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosendo Caradaro charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rosendo Caradaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edmundo Espiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Norbert Szigligeti. C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Enrique Sustrai scored 3-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Sustrai in the 99th minute of play. Many of Honduras's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Honduras may have spent more time on the ball, but C.A. Justo J. de Urquiza were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
