Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Cleto Baldovino despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yasin İldeniz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. The corner led ERCİYES KARTALI's Cemil Özguc to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Cleto Baldovino to make any attempt to save it. Cleto Baldovino made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 42 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Cleto Baldovino made a huge save. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Cleto Baldovino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cleto Baldovino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleto Baldovino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Cleto Baldovino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
