Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniël Isla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Milagros Fraga struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Daniël Isla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. The audience thought a goal was coming when George Lucas got free with Rolando Noboa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The throw-in from Alfredo Tohias in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 23rd minute George Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteve Lando in the 25th minute of play. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Moises Gayoso with Eliseo Mina as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Daniël Isla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filomeno Bladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Daniël Isla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.
