Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Esteban Musko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Pepe Sand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pepe Sand's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pepe Sand helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, LEON's Pepe Sand got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Esteban Musko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Musko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Pepe Sand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LEON's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pepe Sand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esteban Musko was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Esteban Musko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. After some careless play in the LEON defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Musko. The LEON fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Musko should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruperto Asur in the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes LEON got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Mergildo. Esteban Musko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruperto Asur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. LEON's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Esteban Musko, making the score, 0-4. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Musko made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Esteban Musko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. LEON made a substitution. Silvestre Mikeldi replaced Pepe Sand. LEON's Alfonso Eguzki was substituted for Ruperto Asur. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. LEON's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Esteban Musko quite easily take care of the ball. Honorio Mergildo's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Esteban Musko however easily saved by the left post. In the 72nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Esteban Musko quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esteban Musko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Esteban Musko made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Mikeldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 81 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Honorio Mergildo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to LEON's Teo Acevedo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 87 minutes into the match, LEON's goalkeeper Esteban Musko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 88th match minute, LEON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Mikeldi to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Esteban Musko made a huge save. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
