In the 7th minute, Edílson Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Edílson Souza scored 0-3 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 23 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fifth Chicken's Krzysztof Dziewedik quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Edílson Souza took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edílson Souza's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. The supporters of Fifth Chicken booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Edílson Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd match minute, Fifth Chicken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sten Granström to maneuver through the defense. After 35 minutes, Edílson Souza made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Edílson Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fifth Chicken were winning 0-8.

After 52 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Fifth Chicken players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. When the match had been going on for 53 minutes, Fifth Chicken's Edílson Souza got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Benito Sanz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edílson Souza in the 56th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Kazimierz Sliwinski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fifth Chicken's supporters rose to their feet, but Kazimierz Sliwinski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edílson Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. 66 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Edílson Souza came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Edílson Souza made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. Fifth Chicken's Mieszko Borkowski was substituted for Kazimierz Sliwinski. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Waldemar Tipinski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. If Kazimierz Siekierski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Waldemar Tipinski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-13. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! 90 minutes into the game, Krzysztof Wodaszak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-15. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Fifth Chicken were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
