After 2 played minutes Descamisados CF got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Sansone. Anselmo Thomas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lawrence Lawless saved Descamisados CF from getting behind. In the 16th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Lawless saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Thomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Descamisados CF's goalkeeper Lawrence Lawless, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Thomas in the 26th minute of play. If Anselmo Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Baraquiel came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Baraquiel in the 37th minute of the match. Anselmo Thomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Lawrence Lawless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Peru's Luz Tejedor got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Baraquiel came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jairo Baraquiel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lawrence Lawless read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Ricardo Bochini kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Jairo Baraquiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Baraquiel in the 61st minute of play. Descamisados CF's Lawrence Lawless played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play. In the 70th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Lawless saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 played minutes Descamisados CF got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Mazon. In the 77th minute Ceferino Bakar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Rafael Gallo came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lawrence Lawless could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Lawrence Lawless in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lawrence Lawless narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
