In the 5th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Rosa took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Claudio Cerritos got a throw-in 18 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leopoldo Rosa. 19 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Santo Libertad came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Leopoldo Rosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Buckner in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Darryl Buckner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darryl Buckner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of play forced Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Darryl Buckner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Leopoldo Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Leopoldo Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the game, Darryl Buckner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. Darryl Buckner might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darryl Buckner ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes into the game, Pascual Lesardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 64 played minutes Dep Colonia Avellaneda got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Lesardo. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Leopoldo Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pascual Lesardo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Claudio Cerritos made in the 73rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Leopoldo Rosa however managed to control. 77 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Victoriano Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 81st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Rosa went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Dep Colonia Avellaneda from getting a goal against them. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dep Colonia Avellaneda fully deserved thier win.
