Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. Damian Şchiopu was a little too slow when Eliseo Noboa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Calfachioi AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petruț Stoiciu in the 12th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Şchiopu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 17th minute of play. Damian Şchiopu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 19th minute of the match Petruț Stoiciu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 23rd minute of play forced Calfachioi AC's goalkeeper Damian Şchiopu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Calfachioi AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Chițu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Calfachioi AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Noboa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 32nd match minute, Calfachioi AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Mărăscu to maneuver through the defense. Damian Şchiopu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eliseo Noboa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinand Lucescu to make the kick off. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Lucescu in the 54th minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calfachioi AC reached it. Calfachioi AC's Damian Şchiopu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 66th minute of play. Eliseo Noboa scored 4-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Şchiopu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Calfachioi AC's Damian Şchiopu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 85th minute of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdinand Lucescu got free with Benito Sanz in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calfachioi AC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
