The player immediately received a yellow card. 5 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Beticostrogodo a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Giraldo Martinez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 0-1. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Cifuentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven Jansson made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the match, Juan-Luis Caballero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan-Luis Caballero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Juan-Luis Caballero took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 30th minute, Juan-Luis Caballero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beticostrogodo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Tomas Illescas scored to the left of an out of position Sven Jansson, making the score, 1-4. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Luis Caballero, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 40 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giraldo Martinez who took care of the corner kick. Giraldo Martinez made a great header on Beticostrogodo's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. After 45 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Beticostrogodo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Beticostrogodo's José Higuera was substituted for Godfredo Gene. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 46th minute. Juan-Luis Caballero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Venezuela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Beticostrogodo were winning 1-4.

Sven Jansson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Juan-Luis Caballero tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Higuera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Beticostrogodo getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Lucas Calderon hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan-Luis Caballero in the 66th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan-Luis Caballero in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sven Jansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 78 minutes into the game, Juan-Luis Caballero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beticostrogodo's Truylos Baltanas was substituted for Ambrosio Dellasierra. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Dalmai Barba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute Rosendo Cifuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Beticostrogodo's Dalmai Barba in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Dalmai Barba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The Beticostrogodo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Beticostrogodo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
