Luis Rubio made in the 5th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Mateo Leguizamo however managed to control. Eddie Hultman struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bennis. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan-Åke Hallgren in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. In the 17th minute Jan-Åke Hallgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Eddie Hultman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Eddie Hultman sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th match minute, Bennis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Wallgren to maneuver through the defense. Eddie Hultman had several of the El Salvador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ricardo Zorita as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 40 played minutes Eddie Hultman rounded El Salvador's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Bennis's Jan-Åke Hallgren was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Åke Hallgren in the 46th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan-Åke Hallgren made a kick off. Eddie Hultman struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Ricardo Zorita when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. The Bennis fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Bennis's Eddie Hultman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Eddie Hultman came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Bennis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Hultman couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Eddie Hultman put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Zorita. After having played for 85 minutes, Freddy Mingo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bennis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddy Mingo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bennis's Marcus Vase proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Bennis from getting a goal against them. After having played for 89 minutes, Eddie Hultman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bennis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eddie Hultman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st minute, Eddie Hultman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bennis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Bennis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Siembab didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bennis fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Salvador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
