Mario Fernandino started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Ferdinand Lucescu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Camilo Freixa. Marin Donose kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Fontirroig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Damian Şchiopu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Ferrant in the 20th minute of play. Eduardo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Bolivia from getting a goal against them. Mario Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Şchiopu having to interfere. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Francisco Gallo hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdinand Lucescu made a kick off. Eduardo Fontirroig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Damian Şchiopu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by Manole Busuioceanu with Ioan Rădvan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinand Lucescu in the 73rd minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ioan Rădvan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. Francisc Chițu kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alfonso de la Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Calfachioi AC's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Fontirroig came free, but Damian Şchiopu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bolivia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
