The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Fellipe Meira in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Cambeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Dênis Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Superação fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dênis Tepedino couldn't finish the play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Tepedino in the 25th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Superação's Guto de Barros got a free kick in the 27th minute. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fellipe Meira having to interfere. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Superação. Andrézinho Mota stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcos Cotilla. 0-1. After the first half Superação were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrézinho Mota to make the kick off. Cristóvão Moreira hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Fellipe Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 75th minute of play forced Superação's goalkeeper Fellipe Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Dênis Tepedino took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Marcos Cotilla to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle went the supporters of Superação were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Panama side.
