Xan Revillas started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When CD Municipal's Xan Revillas in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sagrario Paniagua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 18th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Xan Revillas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Venezuela's attentive Jonathan Venegas managed to snatch the ball when Orland Urria made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sagrario Paniagua having to interfere. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua did a great save. Mambru Entrala tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Sagrario Paniagua. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-3 in the 62nd minute. Sagrario Paniagua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 91st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sagrario Paniagua saved CD Municipal from getting behind. When the match was over Venezuela could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD Municipal throughout the match.
