In the 24th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Nordsjælland's Svenåge Ellefsen got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of FC Nordsjælland booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 30th minute. FC Nordsjælland's Andreas Hansen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match, Sindre Walle tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Patricio Costa scored 0-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andreas Hansen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

FC Nordsjælland made a substitution. Mads Hansen replaced Andreas Schjelderup. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andreas Hansen. The supporters of FC Nordsjælland booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 82 minutes, Guillermo Mariano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Mariano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Nordsjælland's Aage Thegler got a free kick in the 87th minute. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Andreas Hansen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Correa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
