In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Arnulfo Roderigo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Marco Day to make any attempt to save it. FC CSKA's Georgi Dimitrov got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When USA's Cassius Byrne in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC CSKA's goalie prevented a goal. Monty Rogers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georgi Velinov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Cassius Byrne notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov. A nice corner shot did that Bradley de Nooijer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. FC CSKA were victorious despite being under pressure from USA for much of the match.
