Ter Stegen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Donleavy Barrett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ersin Uyguralp was slow to take the kick. During this time 1948 MKS's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19thth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ter Stegen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 26 minutes 1948 MKS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Ter Stegen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ter Stegen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to 1948 MKS getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Daniel Doherty hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ter Stegen. 1948 MKS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in 1948 MKS's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ter Stegen came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donleavy Barrett made a kick off. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes 1948 MKS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen did a great save. In the 56th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ter Stegen. Ter Stegen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After 64 played minutes 1948 MKS got a freekick which was hit by Beothach Brennan. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ter Stegen firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 68th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. 1948 MKS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ter Stegen. Ter Stegen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Ter Stegen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Baoithin Doherty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1948 MKS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baoithin Doherty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
