Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, 1948 MKS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick McDonald to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ter Stegen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donleavy Barrett in the 12th minute. After 17 played minutes 1948 MKS got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Doherty. Gilbert Jameson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Donleavy Barrett sent off a good shot on target. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. Ter Stegen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Baoithin Doherty kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ter Stegen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Stegen having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ter Stegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Donleavy Barrett in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ter Stegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 57 minutes 1948 MKS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 59th minute, Baoithin Doherty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, 1948 MKS's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ter Stegen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ter Stegen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Doherty hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donleavy Barrett in the 76th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, 1948 MKS's Beothach Brennan got a free kick in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes 1948 MKS got a freekick which was hit by Beothach Brennan. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Stegen having to interfere. Ter Stegen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Sebastián Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. A collision led to 1948 MKS getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Mack Willson hit a great ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
