Fausto Raymundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 7th minute of play forced Miramar's goalkeeper Fausto Raymundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Klement Lesiecki reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Bertin in the 12th minute of the match. Adolfo Bertin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 13th minute of the match, Adolfo Bertin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Mariano Cordearo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Juan Herrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Herrera got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fausto Raymundo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute, Juan Herrera fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. A hard shot 30 in the game by Klement Lesiecki from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Mariano Cordearo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Eulalio Procopio ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes into the game, Miramar's Juan Herrera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
