An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartosz Furgat in the 35th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Ángel Angulo to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson-Arantes Maradona in the 59th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edson-Arantes Maradona charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edson-Arantes Maradona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to TheLastDance getting a freekick after 65 minutes play.
