Andolin Climent hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joacim Berggren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betão Machado's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 29 minutes into the match, Udinese's goalkeeper Dan Almkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 30th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Udinese's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Agustín Saelices got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dan Almkvist quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Betão Machado came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Almkvist having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Joacim Berggren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Betão Machado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dan Almkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dan Almkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute of play. Dan Almkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of the match. Julio Vera had great luck who in the 70thth minute grab hold of the ball when Nils-Åke Lundgren from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Cristian Sancho scored 3-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dan Almkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Jan-Erik Ahlfors recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Almkvist having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Joacim Berggren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, one of Udinese:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Udinese. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
