Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luca Tedesco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. 22 minutes into the match, VALLETTA WHITE STARS's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Luca Tedesco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Venezuela booed when VALLETTA WHITE STARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Testaferrata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Godwin Cohen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Venezuela. The supporters of Venezuela booed when VALLETTA WHITE STARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderick Pisani didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luca Tedesco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Paul Dingli in the 52nd minute of the match. Anton Gafà blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Aaron Testaferrata charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Testaferrata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aaron Testaferrata hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Luca Tedesco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save VALLETTA WHITE STARS from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peter Paul Dingli went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Peter Decelis kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Luca Tedesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
