In the 10th minute, Jesus Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Taha Akyol. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! 25 minutes into the match, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Taha Akyol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Taha Akyol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 41 played minutes, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Taha Akyol came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Salvador reached it. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Dominic Colebrants tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 44 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Valentino Ferrant. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Taha Akyol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half El Salvador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dominic Colebrants was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Taha Akyol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Moises Fernandino hit a great ball. Abram Luque's late challenge caught a Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abram Luque helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Abram Luque. With a little luck, Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Taha Akyol got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Moises Fernandinos short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Taha Akyol to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's zone, Abram Luque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taha Akyol came out of the goal and Abram Luque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes in the game Karel-Jan Biermans did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to David Smedts. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Salvador eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
