Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Horácio Rossi made a huge save. Horácio Rossi was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With a little luck, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Horácio Rossi got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Isandro Calvo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Horácio Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute. Bayer 04 Leverkusen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Horácio Rossi, making the score, 2-0. Daniel Zorita in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horácio Rossi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
