In the 8th minute of the game Basílio Perez made a throw-in which Iuri de Andrade played forward. In the 22nd minute, Moises Fernandino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Kiko Rosado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kiko Rosado. Goiás Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iuri de Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Kiko Rosado in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moises Fernandino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Kiko Rosado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Goiás Esporte Clube defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kiko Rosado. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kiko Rosado should have stopped the shot. Moises Fernandino's late challenge caught a Goiás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moises Fernandino helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a free kick in the 71st minute. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kiko Rosado. Kiko Rosado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Goiás Esporte Clube's zone, Abram Luque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kiko Rosado came out of the goal and Abram Luque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abram Luque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Kiko Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Salvador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
