The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 28th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santo Santiago. Sinsacote AFC's Felix Crayon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. Felix Crayon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Sinsacote AFC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Duarte came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Teodoro Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bertel Haug during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felix Crayon. Sinsacote AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 97th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
