Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. John Said started the match with the kick off. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Dragoş Afloarei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dragoş Afloarei really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. John Said didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 3-0 via right post in the game's 20th minute. Filfla United's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 26 minutes in the game, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benito Sanz having to interfere. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when John Said tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, John Said kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Afloarei, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Orhun Erdesir fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Filfla United's protests and gave Orhun Erdesir a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Filfla United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orhun Erdesir to maneuver through the defense. Dragoş Afloarei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu in the 56th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Afloarei came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute Dragoş Afloarei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dragoş Afloarei in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Afloarei in the 66th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Afloarei, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Filfla United's John Said nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 秦朗强, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dragoş Afloarei took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Filfla United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dragoş Afloarei in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. When Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Filfla United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin Rahmi Avcu couldn't finish the play.
