Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Dimitri Bougault received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ludomil Kajdasz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Arnaud Konieczny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 21st minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ludomil Kajdasz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaud Konieczny. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaud Konieczny got free with Julio Vera in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Holger Duusgaard kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Antonin Dagorne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Herblay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Felix Montenegro put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ludomil Kajdasz. Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Herblay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sylvain Missonnier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomil Kajdasz having to interfere. When Herblay's Antonin Dagorne in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Ludomil Kajdasz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaud Konieczny in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Herblay were awarded a corner. Dimitri Bougault went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Herblay's corner Norbert Cadart fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ludomil Kajdasz could save by the left post. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaud Konieczny's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Herblay's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ludomil Kajdasz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 68 minutes, Joël Willaume mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Herblay and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Agustín Saelices. In the 69th minute, Joël Willaume hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Diego Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Kajdasz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Ludomil Kajdasz made a huge save. After having played for 76 minutes, Norbert Cadart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
