Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Coronel Paredes made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Calaflores FC.'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víctor Valdés came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Víctor Valdés came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 13th match minute, Calaflores FC. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dionisio Zubizarreta to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through Calaflores FC.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Víctor Valdés. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Calaflores FC.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Calaflores FC.'s Víctor Valdés managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play forced Calaflores FC.'s goalkeeper Víctor Valdés to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Coronel Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 38th minute. Calaflores FC.'s Dionisio Zubizarreta couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes, Manuel Zubiaga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calaflores FC. and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manuel Zubiaga kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Víctor Valdés narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Zubiaga in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Zubiaga in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 58th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 58th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calaflores FC.'s Víctor Valdés proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Calaflores FC. from getting a goal against them. After 64 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Gaskon Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Calaflores FC.'s Marcos Zapater was substituted for Manuel Zubiaga. After a rather tough play, Calaflores FC.'s Gaskon Rubio got a free kick in the 71st minute. Víctor Valdés made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. When Coronel Paredes came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Calaflores FC. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coronel Paredes couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Zapater in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Barros Cifuentes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute of the match, Cristian Sancho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Víctor Valdés saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dionisio Zubizarreta who took care of the corner kick.
