If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Herensuge in the 20th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Regresado's Emilio Bazkoare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. If Valentin Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Miguel Herensuge sent off a good shot on target. Brian Foretic who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Valentin Osorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brian Foretic. After 43 played minutes Regresado got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Perez.

The wind increased when Brian Foretic made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Regresado's Valentin Osorio got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Emilio Bazkoare could save by the left post. Brian Foretic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Regresado's Nanak Liders was substituted for Valentin Osorio. 60 minutes into the match, Regresado's goalkeeper Emilio Bazkoare had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. After having played for 76 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Regresado's Freddy Velasco was substituted for Rolando Guillen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Herensuge in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Regresado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Herensuge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Bazkoare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Herensuge in the 90th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emilio Bazkoare, 1-3. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Regresado throughout the match.
