Abdellah Medjadi Guessoum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduardo Fontirroig went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Camilo Freixa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Friedrich Engels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdellah Medjadi Guessoum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Ferrant, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Eduardo Fontirroig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abdellah Medjadi Guessoum read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nassim Mansouri in the 45th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Friedrich Engels managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Friedrich Engels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nassim Mansouri was the one to do the kick off. Eduardo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Nassim Mansouri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camilo Freixa. Eduardo Fontirroig might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdellah Medjadi Guessoum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Fontirroig ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Julio Chicote managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolivia's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Chicote was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdellah Medjadi Guessoum breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Chicote recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
