But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Paiva couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Kęstutis Raziulis in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute, Dariusz Moczkiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kęstutis Raziulis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute. Kęstutis Raziulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Kęstutis Raziulis in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rio Arinos throughout the match.
