If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Egger in the 8th minute of play. Amerigo Egger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amerigo Egger scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Cosimo Michelini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ermanno Baratta. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amerigo Egger in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Egger in the 20th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amerigo Egger went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Lilywhites's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Modesto Oakley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Modesto Oakley was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Egger in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Ermanno Baratta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Ermanno Baratta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. In the 43rd minute Cosimo Michelini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amerigo Egger hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amerigo Egger got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermanno Baratta in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Ermanno Baratta sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Modesto Oakley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Baratta came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. In the 73rd minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute Amerigo Egger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Modesto Oakley made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 76th minute. Róbert Szepes might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Róbert Szepes ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosimo Michelini in the 85th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cosimo Michelini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Francisco Loaisa's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Loaisa helped the player get up and apologised. Francisco Loaisa hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
