The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Peru booed when Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yin Nan Feng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rauno Koba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. After 10 played minutes Rauno Koba rounded Peru's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Oher in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play forced Vila's goalkeeper Koit Vaikma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Koit Vaikma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the game, Viljar Läänemets threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Rauno Koba sent off a good shot on target. Koit Vaikma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Georg Oher. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georg Oher in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Kristjan Jaani came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vila's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Koit Vaikma came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Oher in the 73rd minute of play. Yin Nan Feng's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yin Nan Feng helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vila's Yin Nan Feng got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Vila's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Koit Vaikma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 80th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georg Oher in the 81st minute of the match. Antonio Tenorio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Koit Vaikma made a huge save. Koit Vaikma made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Antonio Tenorio sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Peru's Rafael Gallo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Koit Vaikma. Koit Vaikma yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The Vila supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
