The supporters of Gelmore FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the game Laslo Luginbühl kicked a great long shot which passed Marcos Cotilla straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-1. One couldn't see Laslo Luginbühl behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. Gelmore FC's Mahieddine Bouzid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 17th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Manuel Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gelmore FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. Manuel Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mahieddine Bouzid prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Wolfgang Aloph sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Ferraz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gelmore FC's Mahieddine Bouzid proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Gelmore FC from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the game, Gelmore FC's Manuel Ferraz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Gelmore FC were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Panama's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Laslo Luginbühl took the corner. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Panama players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
