Walmir Dias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Walmir Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Walmir Dias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4.

Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Walmir Dias however easily saved by the left post. In the 52nd minute of the match, Cristian Sancho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Walmir Dias saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 53rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Walmir Dias made a huge save. After 67 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Coutinho in the 73rd minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walmir Dias was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Walmir Dias made a huge save.
