An unexpectedly hard shot by 胡适源 in the 26th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that 张威笑's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match.
