Vänge IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Giordani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rune Aspengren was slow to take the kick. During this time Vänge IF's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Rune Aspengren got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mauro Otsoa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vänge IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Otsoa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Otsoa in the 21st minute. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciriaco Hernando. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Axel Aronsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Otsoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. If Mauro Otsoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th minute Mauro Otsoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lilo Stich made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Mauro Otsoa however managed to control. In the 46th match minute, Vänge IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Markel to maneuver through the defense.

Vänge IF's Zoltán Tálas was substituted for Rune Aspengren. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Giordani to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Markus Albäck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vänge IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lilo Stich charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lilo Stich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lilo Stich kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Jose Correa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Hernando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Vänge IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. After 70 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Östen Olsson who took care of the corner kick. In the 74th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. During the 78th minute of the match Lilo Stich completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lilo Stich a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Vänge IF's Lilo Stich got a free kick in the 78th minute. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Ciriaco Hernando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markus Albäck in the 94th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Markus Albäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vänge IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
