Vänge IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Giordani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vänge IF's Ciriaco Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 34th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ciriaco Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Östen Olsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Vänge IF's players had a chance to rest. Vänge IF's Östen Olsson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Markus Albäck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Vänge IF's Markus Albäck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Ciriaco Hernando in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Vänge IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. If Felix Montes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Giordani, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Östen Olsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 88 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Vänge IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Ciriaco Hernando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 92nd minute of the match. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Vänge IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
