A collision led to Lunar Park getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Carlos Taillade hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cedric Van Langhendoncx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Lunar Park got a freekick which was hit by Yazid Larnicol. Cedric Van Langhendoncx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabien Canu scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ecuador's Agustín Saelices in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabien Canu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The corner ended in Fabien Canu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 62nd minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Carlos Taillade shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With a little luck, Lunar Park's Cedric Van Langhendoncx got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabien Canu went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Cedric Van Langhendoncx made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 75th minute. Fabien Canu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Taillade was slow to take the kick. During this time Lunar Park's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Lunar Park's corner Carlos Taillade fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Dobromir Domalik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lunar Park's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 90th minute, Dobromir Domalik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Lunar Park could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
