Norrlands Athen were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filcho Slivkov took the corner. Norrlands Athen's Filcho Slivkov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Manzanares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 13 minutes into the game, Luis Cazalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. Norrlands Athen's Jacinto da Silveira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 15 played minutes Måns Sandberg could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-0 into the left cross. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Lebron in the 19th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 20th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Måns Sandberg went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 34th minute, Kevin Mastache ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Safet Hands was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Abram Sarmiento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Safet Hands was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience was convinced that Måns Sandberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Safet Hands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 65th minute of play. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. After 80 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Indiano. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filcho Slivkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Olo Hajs hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After 84 minutes of play, Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 87th minute of the match. Juan Lebron might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan Lebron ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th minute, Gilbert Hermansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. In the 93rd minute, Colombia's Abram Secada dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-4. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
