Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chairil Sahetappy having to interfere. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Chairil Sahetappy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 18th minute Andrzej Jestrimski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Deac in the 21st minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrzej Jestrimski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th match minute, FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Lehner to maneuver through the defense. Härmo Noormets charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Härmo Noormets the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chairil Sahetappy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chairil Sahetappy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's Konrad Swoboda was substituted for Daniel Fleszar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Konrad Swoboda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's Antoni Dropinski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Ciprian Deac managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciprian Deac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's Mariusz Pazura was substituted for Andrzej Jestrimski. 85 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chairil Sahetappy, 0-2. The supporters of FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Mariusz Pazura managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariusz Pazura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, FC Baya Bongo Jastrzebie's Chairil Sahetappy got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
