Nascente do Leça's Frederico Vilalobos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Nascente do Leça's Severiano Campelo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severiano Campelo in the 17th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes Nascente do Leça got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Campelo. In the 22nd minute, Severiano Campelo made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severiano Campelo in the 30th minute. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Honduras! Emanuel Ocampo hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Severiano Campelo shot from long distance in the 36th minute, but Lautaro Navarro was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 37 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severiano Campelo. In the 41st minute, Christian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Severiano Campelo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Nascente do Leça fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severiano Campelo couldn't finish the play. Severiano Campelo took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Nascente do Leça's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Frederico Vilalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Severiano Campelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 59th minute of play forced Nascente do Leça's goalkeeper Frederico Vilalobos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Campelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of Honduras booed when Nascente do Leça was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Raya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severiano Campelo might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severiano Campelo ran back to his position shaking his head. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severiano Campelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Campelo in the 74th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severiano Campelo in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Armando Raya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Armando Raya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Navarro made in the 82nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sebastian Villa immediately put the ball in play. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Edmundo Espigas short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Frederico Vilalobos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 92 minutes into the match, Severiano Campelo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severiano Campelo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Honduras's attentive Luca Espinar managed to snatch the ball when Bento Madeira made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
