The corner led LATIUM's Aurelio Oriali to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Oriali, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Fausto De Bonis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Giovannelli in the 44th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind LATIUM's goalkeeper Fausto De Bonis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristoforo Caiola made in the 64th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aurelio Oriali. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Giovannelli in the 67th minute of play. After 68 minutes, Alfonso Giovannelli made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84thth minute of the game Amerigo Buffone who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute, Alfonso Giovannelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 93 minutes, Alfonso Giovannelli made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. LATIUM had played much better football throughout.
