The corner ended in Luca Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Joga Bonito's Artur Boruc did a great save. In the 24th minute Luo Wei Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Joga Bonito's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alejo Eleazar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 30th minute of play forced Joga Bonito's goalkeeper Artur Boruc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joga Bonito's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Luo Wei Xi made the kick off in the second half. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. Joga Bonito's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo scored to the left of an out of position Artur Boruc, making the score, 0-3. 63 minutes into the match, Joga Bonito's goalkeeper Artur Boruc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. 65 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Eleazar came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes Joga Bonito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. With a little luck, Joga Bonito's Artur Boruc got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alejo Eleazar charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejo Eleazar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alejo Eleazar hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Boruc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klas Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th match minute, Joga Bonito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luo Wei Xi to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Artur Boruc made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Mexico played a much better game than Joga Bonito and deserved their victory. The Joga Bonito players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
