Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Silvestre Cisco started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Agustín Rossi. Frontera AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Agustín Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. Naohiro Takahara was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agustín Rossi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. Naohiro Takahara might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Naohiro Takahara ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Cisco came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Frontera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naohiro Takahara to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Frontera AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Agustín Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvestre Cisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naohiro Takahara in the 59th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Gaitán, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Frontera AFC's Fabian Jaroszewicz got a free kick in the 68th minute. Frontera AFC's Agustín Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Frontera AFC from getting a goal against them. Silvestre Cisco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Silvestre Cisco notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Agustín Rossi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Silvestre Cisco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th match minute, Frontera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Varela to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
