The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iulian Cobâlcescu during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Iulian Cobâlcescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play forced Super Team's goalkeeper Toader Purcărete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hüseyin Kakisim in the 10th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toader Purcărete having to interfere. In the 14th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toader Purcărete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toader Purcărete was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Toader Purcărete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the game, Czeslaw Lisewski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Toader Purcărete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play forced Super Team's goalkeeper Toader Purcărete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toader Purcărete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Super Team's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 33 minutes into the match, Super Team's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Toader Purcărete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Toader Purcărete. Toader Purcărete dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Iulian Cobâlcescu kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hüseyin Kakisim received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Hüseyin Kakisim slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 43rd minute. After 48 minutes Super Team's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.
The wind increased when Hüseyin Kakisim made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Toader Purcărete didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toader Purcărete having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Toader Purcărete made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Toader Purcărete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Super Team's goalkeeper Toader Purcărete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes, Super Team's Laércio Barbosa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Super Team reached it. Toader Purcărete made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Toader Purcărete made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Super Team's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toader Purcărete came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the game, Ciprian Romaşcanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Super Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 89 played minutes Super Team got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Romaşcanu. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toader Purcărete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 94 played minutes Super Team got a freekick which was hit by Czeslaw Lisewski. Czeslaw Lisewski got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Super Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Czeslaw Lisewski didn't get a good kick on the ball.
