In the 5th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Loïc Curt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. If Loïc Curt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of Perthes United booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrice Lambolez, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Hercule Basque tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute of the match, Loïc Curt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Perthes United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Florian Boitel hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Perthes United's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Marie Sanquer came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Perthes United's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Sanquer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 59th minute. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Perthes United's Jean-Marie Sanquer managed to reach the ball for a save. Florian Boitel tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Jean-Marie Sanquer. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 59th minute. Armand Mondon took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Perthes United booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Patrice Lambolez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Patrice Lambolez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Hercule Basque came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hercule Basque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armand Mondon, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Loïc Curt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Marie Sanquer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Perthes United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
