The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Paul Mirea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 89 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Gaitan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Paul Mirea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. UM Timisoara fully deserved thier win.
