The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Noel Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Zonta in the 16th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Safadão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 21st minute of the match. Oséas Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Oséas Zonta took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Douglas Safadão having to make a save. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ellis Trenoweth's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ellis Trenoweth helped the player get up and apologised. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Birger Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Zonta in the 52nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Marcelo Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Douglas Safadão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Camilo Gaos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the SHINERAY FC - DMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Douglas Safadão. That made the score 2-2 in the 64 minute of play. Birger Leite's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Ellis Trenoweth made in the 70th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which 赵洲延 however managed to control. Birger Leite might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Birger Leite ran back to his position shaking his head. SHINERAY FC - DMZ made a substitution. Dé Andrade replaced Oséas Zonta. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Safadão was relentless in the 77th minute of the game.
