Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Xurdin Pena made the kick off which started today's match. Andrea Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 4th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everett Gerber in the 5th minute of play. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Melandru de Cenero's goalkeeper Andrea Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrea Perez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Cienfuegos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrea Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Melandru de Cenero's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andrea Perez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrea Perez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xurdin Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Melandru de Cenero's goalkeeper Andrea Perez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Andrea Perez to make any attempt to save it. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Xurdin Pena came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Andrea Perez managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Melandru de Cenero's Andrea Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play. Calisto Durango sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Melandru de Cenero getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Nunez Urtzi hit a great ball. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 93rd minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Melandru de Cenero throughout the match.
